2008 3/8~3/10 "London Calling" Art& Design Show

The work show is organized by Savor Culture（UK）and ET Group organized and invited more than twenty Artists from The Royal College of Art, Central Saint Martin college of Art and Design, London college of Fashion who are majored in arts, multimedia, fashion design, interactive media design and so on. More than one hundred of fresh, creative laboratorial works will be displayed in the form of picture, static practicality, video playing, and these works are completely presented the current status and future tendency of UK’s model art.
The tenet of this work show is: 「London Calling.」 It seeks common conception, allows cultural difference, encourages communication in the way of simplicity, spontaneity and freedom, in order to learn from each other, achieve advancement together, enlarge the communication flat, and then accelerate the development of Chinese Creative Industry. At the same time, Entrepreneur also schemes Fashion conception show, in order to fully transfer the activity idea, make fashion focus.

「Good Fortune in the Year of the Mouse」2008 Taiwan Lantern Festival 21st Feb. ~ 2nd March

In celebration of the Year of the Rat, the 2008 Taiwan Lantern Festival adopts the coxinga (spinous country-rat), a rodent native to Taiwan, for the main theme lantern. The lantern depicts the coxinga raised on his hind legs with paws clasped in respect, alluding to a verse by the Tang poet Han Yu. The mouse stands on a grassy knoll praying to the heavens for peace and good fortune and offering a gold ingot symbolizing wealth and luck. The tail of the mouse sways as the lantern revolves, and a colorful light display adds further to the festive quality of the display.

2008 Taipei Lantern Festival 15th Feb.~ 24th Feb.

The lantern design utilizes the Chinese paper-cutting art to tell a well-known folk story of “the rats' wedding”. The ball represents reunion. As it also looks like a lantern or a ribbon ball, the design not only adds more cheerful feelings, but also corresponds to the main theme. The whole work directly and clearly communicates the main theme and it also delivers the messages of “spring and happiness” as well as the “rat year”. Furthermore, the lantern presentation enhances the festival atmosphere, fitting the first element – directly and clearly communicates the public well-recognized information.

Kaohsiung Lantern Festival 2008 2/16~3/2

The 2008 Kaohsiung Lantern Festival stretches from the Love River to the Kaohsiung Harbor. This year’s lanterns are decorated in the theme of ”Love, Happiness”. Large scale fireworks, lantern floats, and water dance performances will be displayed; this celebration aims to increase the city’s international publicity. There will be two main stages, with the larger stage stationed at the Honorary Pier and the smaller stage on the sea. The 16 days of events include the FantaSea Stage Play and the opening ceremony of the lantern festival will sure be an eye-opening experience for all city residents and visitors.

On February 14, Céline Dion will embark upon her "Taking Chances" world tour of over 100 show dates, following her record-shattering, multi-year resident show in Las Vegas.
